LOWELL MIDDLE SCHOOL NAMED A 2021 ASCEND MATH GOLD MEDAL RECIPIENT
Shreveport, LA April 28, 2021, Ascend Education announced today that Lowell Middle School in Lowell, IN will receive a 2021 Gold Medal.
The Gold Medal Award was established in 2010 to honor the schools or districts that best demonstrate a dedication to ensuring that all students become successful at math. The strategies employed by this year’s Gold Medal honorees made use of Ascend Math, an online individualized math instructional resource, to accelerate math learning and outpace growth targets.
In her submission for Lowell Middle School, Wendy Pitcock wrote, “We have seen a positive increase in their NWEA growth scores with some students increasing by 10 or more points (common growth is 5-6 points).”
